My name is Richard Klug. I'm a Rottweiler Breeder located in Northern California in the small town of Gridley (one hour North of Sacramento, CA).  I guess it’s inaccurate to say that I’m a breeder in some respects. I don’t raise rottweilers to sell rottweilers. I breed a small number of Rottweilers from the finest American, German and European bloodlines and then hand raise the puppies to make sure that these dogs are the best in the world. There is nothing as majestic as the stance and form of a beautiful Rottweiler and there is no dog in my mind, as loving as a pet or as exciting to watch as well trained rottweiler working.  
 I choose the parents based on physical health, sound temperament, correct conformation and their ability to work. Our Rottweilers are AKC registered and OFA certified or equivalent prior to breeding. When the puppies are born, I personally stay with them for the first couple weeks and hand raise them until they are old enough to go to their new homes. No expense or measure is avoided or too costly to insure that our rottweiler puppies are the very best they can be.  The result is that from most litters there are a few great show quality rottweilers and a few pet quality rottweilers.  A pet quality rottweiler might be a dog with a few white hairs on its chest or a dog that would make an excellent companion but doesn’t have quite as much drive as a show dog. I don’t sell our rottweilers to people who want them as a status symbol or a guard dog. I love every one of our rottweilers and if you aren’t going to love them just as much, you’ll need to look elsewhere to find a dog you can purchase.
 You must make a commitment to appropriate training and provide a loving environment for your puppy or I’d just rather not part with them.  If I’m the right breeder for you (and I suggest you visit or talk to several) and you’re the kind of owner who either has the drive, tenacity and experience to show or do Schutzhund, or the type of person who wants one of the most loving companions a human can have, then we are quite likely to have a rottweiler for you.
We keep a number of dogs ourselves and they are worked and exercised every day of the year for as long as they live. Their home environment is a place of love and also a place where they receive training and discipline by my own hand.  Rottweilers need work in order to keep their minds and bodies active and healthy.
 Our personal Rottweilers are trained in the sport of Schutzhund and are HOT (handler, owner, trained).   We are members of Schutzhund USA and the WDA. Our Rottweilers are shown in ARV, USRC, and occasionally UCI show rings.
 We are code of ethics rottweiler breeders.
